Make it Known – Agriculture Counts

The Nitrates and Phosphorus Regulations 2007 have been agreed, and apply to all farm businesses throughout Northern Ireland.

Today, the Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development, David Cairns, launched a poster, which summarises the key requirements of the legislation. The poster includes details on Closed Periods, Storage Requirements, Land Application Restrictions and Record Keeping.

The Minister said: "This poster provides 'at-a-glance' guidelines regarding the Nitrates and Phosphorus Regulations. I encourage every farm business to display it clearly for easy reference."

The poster will be sent to every farm business. Additional copies are available in local Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD) offices, on the DARD exhibit at the Winter Fair and on-line at www.dardni.gov.uk
