Head Shepherd Malcolm Crawford receives Imperial Service Medal

16th November 2007
CAFRE, Greenmount Campus
John Fay, Director of CAFRE presented Malcolm Crawford with the Imperial Service Medal at a special lunch held at Greenmount Campus in October. This Medal, one of the UK’s highest commendations, is awarded in recognition of long and loyal service within the Civil Service.
Malcolm retired earlier this year on 8 March 2007, following 51 years of dedicated service as shepherd at Greenmount Hill Farm, Glenwherry.
He commenced his career within the NICS when he was 14 years old as an assistant to his father Frank who was then head shepherd. Over the years there have been numerous and significant changes at the Greenmount Hill Farm. Malcolm’s commitment and wealth of experience has undoubtedly contributed greatly to the effective and efficient running of this farm throughout his long years of service.
