Trailing Shoe Slurry Spreading

CAFRE Dairying Development Advisers held a series of demonstrations of alternative slurry spreading systems across Northern Ireland throughout June 2008. These demonstrations provided opportunities for farmers to assess and compare grass growth following slurry spreading either by conventional splash plate or by trailing shoe technology. Working demonstrations of trailing shoe slurry spreading equipment were also given at each event. Over 400 farmers attended the events across N. Ireland. CAFRE would like to thank those farmers who made their farms available to hold the demonstrations and the agricultural machinery contractors who provided their equipment and time to give the demonstrations.
