Tour - 1st stage accommodation

- Pigs are weaned at 4 weeks into "Piggy Parlour" flat decks
- Four Piggy Parlours allow for an all in- all out system to be operated

- The pigs are divided into 4 groups at weaning and are batched according to size
- The 4 pens are serviced by a central passage

- The room environment is computer controlled
- It is automatically adjusted as the pigs gain weight

- Fresh air is drawn in by a central fan in the roof
- Incoming air can be heated by two electric heater elements
- A recirculation fan ensures the air remains fresh

- Stale air is removed by an extraction fan at the rear of each room

- The pigs continue to receive creep for 5 days after weaning
- They are then gradually changed onto a link ration
- Water is available ad lib from both nipple drinkers and bowls
- The nipple drinkers are positioned at two different heights to allow for pig growth
