Piggy parlours
  • Pigs are weaned at 4 weeks into "Piggy Parlour" flat decks
  • Four Piggy Parlours allow for an all in- all out system to be operated
Pigs in pens.
  • The pigs are divided into 4 groups at weaning and are batched according to size
  • The 4 pens are serviced by a central passage
Pigs in room.
  • The room environment is computer controlled
  • It is automatically adjusted as the pigs gain weight
Fan control system.
  • Fresh air is drawn in by a central fan in the roof
  • Incoming air can be heated by two electric heater elements
  • A recirculation fan ensures the air remains fresh
Extraction fan.
  • Stale air is removed by an extraction fan at the rear of each room
Pigs in pen.
  • The pigs continue to receive creep for 5 days after weaning
  • They are then gradually changed onto a link ration
  • Water is available ad lib from both nipple drinkers and bowls
  • The nipple drinkers are positioned at two different heights to allow for pig growth
