Pony
The Connemara pony is Ireland's only native pony. It is an ancient breed, which has run free for 2,500 years in the rocky landscape of Connemara. This indigenous pony is popular throughout the world. It is hardy, careful, sensible type of pony, large enough to be ridden by adults and attractive to look at.
The Pony Club (PC) is currently recognised as an international voluntary youth organisation for people 21 and under who are interested in riding and in ponies. It has representatives in 18 countries world wide, and has a membership of over 110,000.
