The Waste Management Licensing Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2003

These regulations mean that the responsibility for waste management licensing transfers from local district councils to the Department of the Environment (DOE). The Environment and Heritage Service (EHS) will be responsible for issuing licences, set conditions on licensed activities and monitor sites to ensure compliance with licence conditions.
