The Groundwater Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1998

This legislation aims to prevent pollution of groundwater. Before certain listed substances including used sheep dips and waste pesticides are disposed of by land spreading, authorisation must be obtained from Department for the Environment's Environment and Heritage Service. The maximum fine for non-compliance is £20,000.
