Calculating relative humidity
WORKING OUT RELATIVE HUMIDITY USING A WET AND DRY THERMOMETER
Figures in the table below are percentage relative humidities
Operating Instructions:
- Be sure the dry thermometer is really dry.
- Be sure the cotton of the wet thermometer is moist.
- Be sure that before reading the temperature the sun doesn't shine on the instrument.
- Read the wet thermometer.
- Read the dry thermometer.
- Look for the temperature of the dry thermometer in the left table and in the column above the (the horizontal) the difference between dry and wet thermometer. For example: dry thermometer 17 C, wet thermometer 14.5 C. Humidity 77 percent.
