Post harvest growth control
Are your orchards growing too vigorously?
Many growers have found that Cultar applied after harvest has a beneficial effect on growth control in the following season. Various different treatments have been successfully tried including:
0.5 - 0.7 litres per ha (7 - 10 fl ozs per acre) applied as foliar spray soon after harvest, perhaps with an adjuvant.
2 - 10 ml per tree applied around the trunk in 0.5 - 2 litres (1 - 4 pints) of water during autumn.
A winter wash of 0.35 - 1.0 litres per ha (5 - 15 fl oz per acre) plus an adjuvant at high volume and low fan speed after leaf fall.
You should note that none of these treatments are recommended on the label and are therefore applied at growers' own risk.
The maximum total dose per season is 56 fl oz per acre (4 litres per ha). Post harvest treatments applied now should be included as part of next season's total dose as they are designed to influence growth and cropping next season.
