Irrigation of peatbag crops

Make sure you monitor the runoff by collecting daily at several points. At the same time measure the input irrigation from the same area and ascertain that you are achieving the following runoff.
Overcast, dull, cool weather - 10-15%
Warm sunny weather - 20-25%
Full crop - 25%
When you increase your irrigation volume, do so by irrigating more frequently rather than increasing the existing irrigation times. Make sure you check the EC levels in the runoff and input irrigation on a regular basis.
You should aim to achieve a higher EC in the runoff than from the irrigation water.
-the difference should be in the region of 0.3. If the EC levels are lower in the drainage water, raise the EC of the irrigation water temporarily to 1.8 until the runoff EC reaches the desired level.
