Inspections
DARD and environment and Heritage Service as designated Competent Control authorities have responsibility for carrying out cross compliance inspections within their areas of responsibility. DARD as Paying Authority has responsibility for the fixing of financial penalties. Financial penalties imposed will proportionate to the severity, extent, permanence and repetition of non-compliance.
A farm business obtaining single Farm payment must meet the requirements of Cross-Compliance Statutory Management Requirements (SMRs) and all keep all the land farmed in Good Agricultural and Environmental Conditions (GAECs) or face financial penalties.
