Cross Compliance
Welcome to the Rural NI Cross Compliance Section. The 1 January 2005 marked a significant change for farmers receiving direct agricultural support payments. As part of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) Reform Agreement, farming practices must be carried out to protect the environment, animal health and welfare and public health in return of these support payments. This is known as Cross Compliance. Here you will find information on all aspects of Cross Compliance.
Cross Compliance involves complying with 19 Statutory Management Requirements (SMRs) and maintaining land in Good Agricultural and Environmental Conditions (GAECs).
