RuralNI is committed to protecting the privacy of Users. The information we collect from you is only that required by us in order to provide you with the information you have requested. Except as provided in this Privacy Policy, we do not supply your Personal Information to any other person unless you have expressly authorised us to do so.
By registering to use the Services and by using the RuralNI site generally you will be deemed to consent to our use of your Personal Information in the ways indicated.

Data Protection and Freedom of Information

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development sponsor this site, it takes data protection and freedom of information issues seriously. It takes care to ensure that any personal information supplied to it is dealt with in a way which complies with the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998. This means that any personal information you supply will be processed principally for the purpose for which it has been provided.  However, the Department may also use it for other legitimate purposes in line with the Data Protection Act 1998 and Freedom of Information legislation.  These include:
  • Allow us to send messages to you when managing enquires online;
  • Allow us to contact you for user service, if necessary;
  • Customise the content of our site to meet your specific needs;
  • Make product improvements to RuralNI;
  • Keep you informed of new features available from RuralNI.
  • Administration of the Common Agricultural Policy and other aid schemes;

Please submit any feedback to RuralNI, this is found via the 'Contact us' section. Feedback is used primarily for internal purposes to aid us in improving the site. Any feedback submitted becomes the property of the RuralNI. We may use this feedback, such as success stories, for marketing purposes, or to contact you for further feedback on the site. We will seek your written or email approval should we want to use your personal success story for marketing purposes.

When you enter the RuralNI site your computer will be automatically issued with a cookie, in order to collect non-personal user information required for system administration of the website.
